Evans was sent off by Brett Huxtable in the 55th minute of the game for an incident with Tom Lockyer.The 30-year-old was given a straight red card despite already being booked in the first half.The striker had denied the charges but an FA statement read: “Ched Evanswill serve a two-match suspension with immediate effect following a charge for using abusive and/or insulting words towards the match referee after Fleetwood Towns match against Bristol Rovers on 22 December 2018.“The striker denied the charge but it was subsequently found proven by an Independent Regulatory Commission. He has also been fined 2,500.” Fleetwood boss Joey Barton was also given a ban and fine for his behaviour during the game.He was sent off following Rovers late winner and criticised the referee, calling the decision to send Evans off very unjust.
