Tottenham new stadium update: Opening of ground delayed AGAIN as Crystal Palace reach FA Cup quarter-finals
Tottenham’s new stadium will not be used before April in what is the latest delay of the opening of the 1billion ground.Spurs had planned to move out of Wembley and into their new home during March, with the Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace on the 17th of the month identified as the first official match to be played at the ‘Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’.Tottenham’s new stadium on February 14, 20191

However, that match will have to be rearranged due to Crystal Palace’s progression to the FA Cup quarter-finals.The Eagles – who beat Spurs in the competition’s fourth round – booked their place in the last eight with Sunday’s defeat of Doncaster, and they’ll discover their quarter-final opponents during Monday evening’s draw.Though the date of their quarter-final will not be confirmed until a later date, all the ties have been confirmed to take place between March 15 and 18 – the same weekend Spurs were due to host Palace at their new stadium. “Following Crystal Palaces FA Cup fifth round win today, our Premier League clash at home against Palace scheduled for Sunday 17 March will have to be rearranged,” a Tottenham stadium read. The need to rearrange said fixture means the ground will not be opened before April, with Tottenham’s next home match after the Palace game coming against Brighton on April 6.The north Londoners then take on Huddersfield, West Ham and Everton at home before the end of the season, with the Palace clash set to take place sometime during that run.

Tottenham's remaining Premier League home fixtures

Spurs have six home Premier League matches to play before the end of the season, with their next fixture confirmed to take place at Wembley
  • Tottenham vs Arsenal (March 2)
  • Tottenham vs Crystal Palace (March 17)
  • Tottenham vs Brighton (April 6)
  • Tottenham vs Huddersfield (April 13)
  • Tottenham vs West Ham (April 27)
  • Tottenham vs Everton (May 12)
The Premier League are believed to want Spurs to play at least five matches at their new stadium, which means the club could play the remainder of the season at Wembley if the Brighton clash cannot be confirmed as the official opening.
