Rangers Under-17s have become the first British side to win the Alkass International Cup after beating AS Roma in the final in Qatar.The Light Blues, who had one of the youngest squads at the tournament, beat the Italian side 9-8 in a nerve-wracking penalty shootout after the game finished 1-1.

Gers coach David McCallum said: When you get to penalties its very much anyones game. I think we have to congratulate Roma on a terrific final and hopefully it was an enjoyable one for everyone to watch.We would love to come back. You just need to look around you and consider the experience that the players have had, the quality of games that theyd played and the excellent facilities and way that weve been treated.
